Some of the most important work the Musicians Union has done is to establish minimum pay rates for highly skilled musician labor. We call these rates, wage scales, and each local has various categories of rates. Knowing these rates makes it easy to set booking standards for yourself and your group. When using a union contract you also have an organization behind you, helping to enforce a contract. Another thing we'd like to call your attention to is that we have a Pension Fund for musicians. Contributions to the fund must be earned through applicable union contracts.
