Joining Local 23, American Federation of Musicians
Membership is open to all musicians who work either part-time or
full-time in any style including pop, rock, country, folk, jazz, classical, or other
styles. When you join we suggest that you to take advantage of our member
benefits, attend meetings, vote for officers, and
communicate your ideas to help make the union a better organization.

N.B. There are usually discounts for paying dues annually rather than
quarterly
- Youth member (Until 21 years of age) can join
with no initiation fees, and have full AFM/Local 23 rights.
Youth membership is converted to regular membership at age 21 with no
additional fees.
- $34 Quarterly Dues (cheaper if paid annually)
- Student member (In an accredited school,
college, or university) can join with no initiation fees, and have full
AFM/Local 23 rights.
Student membership is converted to regular membership with no additional
fees when no longer a student.
- $34 Quarterly Dues (cheaper if paid annually)
- Regular (new) member to AFM, joining Local 23
- $65 Federal Initiation Fee
- $20 Local Initiation Fee
- $34 Quarterly Dues (cheaper if paid annually)
- Life member (must be 65 and have been a member
for 35 years)
